Diana Jean Gabaldon Watkins was raised in Flagstaff, Arizona and has a diverse ethnic background, including Hispanic, English, Native American, and Sephardic Jew. Her academic achievements include three degrees: a B.S. in Zoology, a M.S. in Marine Biology, and a Ph.D in Ecology.
She was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Glasgow for her contributions to Scottish Literature.
Currently, Diana resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
